En España no podemos ocultar la energía que llevamos dentro: queremos crear, escribir, dibujar, inventar, fabular… Es posible y necesario encontrar el hueco para nuestro estilo, nuestra expresión, nuestra historia, nuestro libro.
La SCBWI reúne a creadores de cualquier género y arte, y ese intercambio entre escritores, ilustradores, agentes, editores, siempre resulta fructífecto. Es en los límites de géneros, culturas y técnicas donde muchas veces surge la chispa genial y la oportunidad de publicar.
Aunque en España todavía no somos muchos socios, y la otra sección en español, México, no es más numerosa, sabemos que construir redes, aunque sean pequeñas, son necesarias para compartir los mismos intereses profesionales, las mismas miras centradas en el ancho mundo. Con otros colegas podemos aprender a preparar un manuscrito o un "dummy", a organizar eventos, a conocer el mercado, a montar grupos de crítica enriquecedores, a documentarnos, a promocionar nuestra obra, a conocer nuestros derechos, a trabajar en congresos y entrevistas con editores de manera eficaz. ¡Porque arte tenemos de sobra!

In Spain we cannot suppress the energy inside us: we want to write, to draw, to invent, to dream up, to create… It is possible and necessary to make room for our style, our expression, our story, our book.
The SCBWI brings together artistis from all genres and artforms, and this exchange among writers, illustrators, agents, publishers, is always fruitful. It is at the crossroards between genres, cultures and techniques where the spark often lights up, and with it the chance to publish.
Although membership numbers in Spain are still low, and the other Spanish language section, Mexico, does not have many more members, we know that building networks, however small, is necessary to share the same professional interests, the same outlook of the wide world. With fellow artists we can learn to prepare a manuscript or a dummy, organize events, get to know the market, set up rewarding critique groups, do research, promote our work, gain awareness of our rights, work in congresses and improve our interviewing skills more efficiently. It's not talent where we are lacking!
